I just noticed it last night when I was watching videos online. It's a buzzing noise that increases with the volume. I can hear a sort of humming in it as well. It's inaudible when the volume is at 20 but anything above that and it gets annoying. The headphones are connected to a soundcard and I noticed that when I switched it to ports on the I/O that the noise was gone but I have the audio on the I/O disabled so the noise might be there if I turned them on due to power maybe? I read that it might be a power issue having to do with where your power supply is plugged in. Their problem was with their microphone but it was solved by plugging their power directly to the wall instead of an extension. If it's the extension then that could perhaps explain how my friends can hear my coil whine through my mic but I can't. Has this happened to you before? Do you know how to fix this?

Solution
Yes I'm using an extension cord. Just a keyboard. The noise is gone now. It just wasn't there when I turned it on this morning and I've had no problems with it.
turn off microphone boost in sound settings under recorder. control panal-> sound->recorder
turn off volume regulation. (lower noises are getting louder and louder noises are being toned down which could be heard if its going through you sound card and regulating it*spread spectrum bleeding through*)

How do I turn off volume regulation?

Did all that but the buzzing and humming is still there.
