I bought a EVGA 6800xt / 256 mem. The fan noise is terrible. I would like to change the fan to a lower noise type. Can any one lead me to a site that would have a good choice of fans. Bruce

zalman fans are hella silent, and very powerful too. i don't trust the artic silencers because they have no memory cooling heatsinks. i think this will be quiet enough for your tastes and powerful enough to overclock when you're ready, i have been more than satisfied with mine.

You obviously have not looked closely at an artic Cooler because the brass cold plate does cool the memory and is easily seen in the pictures on Newegg. My EVGA 7800GT dropped 15C GPU temp and the noise difference is amazing. These coolers have been available in europe for awhile and every experience I have had was nothing but positive. Plus it has focused air flow design to pull air out of the case instead of recycling the hot air in the case. What is not to like you tell me.

ive had BAD experiences with coolers that are just massive heatsinks placed on everything, including the memory. considering i have good case flow and a full tower case, getting hot air out isn't an issue. i may consider it for my next video card (possibly upgrading to a 7800gt soon) however i like my vf700 since its hellaz good looking and even has a blue LED
