850 and 800? I don't think so. 850 *is* 800 for all intents and
purposes.

To display the available networks go to your menu and choose settings.
Choose phone settings. Choose available networks. Choose manual
search. The phone will search for networks and display them. Odds
are though that you'll only be able to register with your home
operator's network unless for some reason there's a roaming agreement
in place.

Not if your using a Cingular sim card. Cingular has there sim card set
to disable this feature. Also the Cingular sim card also overrides the
displayed aplha tag. As a result, you could be roaming on At&t or
T-mobile's network and never know it. Both At&t and T-mobile do not lock
the network scan feature or override displayed alpha tags. If you really
want to see what networks are available, I'de recommend getting a cheep
At&t or T-mobile sim card from e-bay and just don't activate it. This
will allow you to access this feature. However you will need a unlocked
phone to use a sim card other than cingular.

This menu is disabled with most if not all Cingular SIM cards.
