Hello!
I have a Nokia G-2425G-B router with the ports LAN 2 and LAN 3 seeming not to work. They both show up on windows as "Unidentified Network" and on the router GUI they both show as down. I have tried everything in my knowledge and nothing seems to work
In the above, there is nothing passing/has passed though the 2 ports

What do the LEDs show when you connect to them?
There is basically nothing you can do besides verifying that the 8 wires in the port are all parallel not corroded.

It blinks as if its sending packets, but on the computer, it shows its either connected but no internet or connected with internet but google doesnt respond. On the router it also shows as if its sending something. (LAN 1 is the port i am currently connected to that works, LAN 2 is the port doesnt work)
Thought to include this error message if it means anything

Since this is an ONT (optical termination) device, your ISP may replace it as part of your service package. It is also possible that your ISP has disabled those ports.

@Adapt3751

"I think its possible that my ISP has disabled them".

Curious - why? What would be a reason for doing that?

= = = =

Plug a known working computer into LAN Port 2 and then LAN Port 3.

Try to ping the router at 192.168.1.254

Try to ping other devices on LAN ports 1 & 4.,

= = =

Also: is it viable to do a factory reset on the router?

Who has full admin rights to the router?

Since it is an ONT, it may be IP pass-through rather than NAT. Limiting the number of ports limits the devices which get an IP.

Interesting. Thanks.

I am now wondering about how that could be tested or otherwise determined....?

Being that my ping idea may be moot.

In Post #3 LAN ports 2 and 4 both show packets TX and RX.

Only LAN 3 never shows any traffic.

It just seems to me that the ISP is setting themselves up for customer calls & issues without some guidance or other information regarding limited LAN Ports.

But then again it is not uncommon for providers to not advertise or otherwise provide customers with full information.

I.e., "We are going to give you a 4 port router but only two ports are functional. Guess which two...."

🤔
