non-GPU coil whine

I've got a system with an Asus Strix gtx970, an EVGA 220 gs 650w psu (set to eco mode) and an Asus gryphon z97 motherboard. For some reason, in all games, some more than others I get a sometimes light, sometimes extreme coil whine. I actually replaced my GPU today and it still has it. I'm pretty sure it is the PSU, though I'd just like to ask, what's more likely; it being my PSU or motherboard?

The 970s are known to have coil whine issues, its common. Its not hurting any component in your gpu, try sound proofing if its really annoying you. Or just place it further away from yourself

I'm pretty sure it's not the 970, the sound appears to emanate from the PSU. Also the sound did not change at all as compared to the previous GPU.

Oh, and this is not like a light hiss or whine, this is more like physical damage/bad product noise, loud enough it can make it through headphones easily.

Send the PSU back the EVGA GS is a top quality unit it should not have those issues.

EVGA are recommending I do some form of burn in for my PSU overnight or at least a couple of hours. Unless anyone has any objections to that I will do it tonight.
