I have a Presario 1200XL118 that will not turn on. The switch appears to be
functional. I have replaced the RTC battery. When powered by AC cord and the
battery is plugged in......I get a power light for the AC but nothing from the
battery, neither green nor red - just nothing.

Should I be looking at something specific as a result of this problem? i.e,
power supply or converter board, etc? If so, part numbers please if you can or
just surmise my situation if you cannot. Thank you.

Dunno if it's the answer, but the spare part number for the voltage
converter board is 352891-001. A Maintenance & Service Guide is located
here:

1000 thank you's HH. Do you think I'm guessing in the right area. I mean, did
my logic make sense? LOL! Also, a little rubber block fell out that's about
1/4" X 1" The manual shows it but I can't figure out where it goes in spite of
the picture. Guess that's why they call me DUMBnEASY, huh? Hve a nice day.

Either that or the battery. Have you tried holding the on/off button down
for 4-5 seconds?

Not only have I tried 4 or 5 seconds....I've tried 10 and 20 seconds.
Nothing..... I've pulled this thing apart so many times I'm actually getting
good at it. LOL! But this machine is getting no power or something really bad
has happened.
However, I notice I'm getting a battery light along with the AC light. I
wasn't getting a battery light before.

Now, I'm guessing that AC power is going to the battery board before going to
the main board. Would you happen to know? I have another Presario
1200XL::::it doesn't work either but? I'm really open to suggestions. :)

I mean I'm gettin' no nothing....no fan, no HD, no noise.... I wanna cry!

LOL!
