Question Non z overclock

Just wondering can I non z overclock on my mobo. Planning too get a i5 6600k soon.


Spec:
I5 7500
Asrock B250m pro4
16gb ram
Sapphire pulse rx570
Corsair vs550 psu

That motherboard cannot overclock, only Z chipsets, 270Z in your case can overclock .

B250 doesnt allow any cpu overclocking.

To be honest, even an overclocked 6600k struggles today so I wouldn't waste money on buying a 6600k and z series board.

I had a 7500 a few years back - it was starting to struggle in games such as Ghost recon Wildlands so I upgraded to a 8600K. There’s no point upgrading to a 6600K because you’ll need a new mother board to be able to overclock. You’re better off going with a 6 core CPU such as Ryzen. Basically quad core CPUs are starting to show their limitations in certain games and it’s only going to worse going into the future.
