I have an old laptop which isn't much good for anything other than playing youtube music at parties, so it's now worth any serious upgrade, but the regular HDD speed is killing me, and I want to speed it up at least a little bit.

I've found on aliexpress this:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/M280-240GB-Kingdian-brand-560-422-MB-S-Highest-Performance-mini-pcie-SSD-mSATA-SSD/32622723686.html?spm=2114.13010208.99999999.261.0b0AXR

Bunch of people ordered it, gave it a good review, tested it and it's as described (speeds) and it's really cheap.

I'm not putting any more money in that laptop that I need to, so 500/380 R/W speeds are good enough compared to 87/73 that I have right now. I know today, real brands pull as +500/500 but the price goes up as well

Anyway, what do you think of it? Am I missing something, and is there more to it than just Speed? Thank you

That is not for your laptop. That is a pcie (PCI Express) card, and so for desktops. I suppose there might be a laptop that can use one but it would be a pretty odd laptop.

Look for one that looks more like this one:

Says it's mSata. Here it is on manufactuer site

Maybe seller on aliexpress just threw a bunch of keywords to get more customers in, and hope for cross-sales.

This is Samsung mSata EVO. Same connector.

And I'd like to keep my old 1TB HDD inside purely for storage amount. So mSata is the only way to go

Uff, it sure looks like it. I have one in the other room, but I can't get it (or a PCIE 1x card) to compare directly as I would have to turn on the lights and wake my wife. I guess I reacted to the PCIE in the name and should have checked my scrap pile before opening my mouth.
