None of the harddrives are recognized :(

So I finally got the bootable USB working and plugged it in and got to the part where I am meant to select which driver to install windows to and none of them appear.

SSD is in the case and connected with a Sata 6gbp/s cable and so is the HDD (3.5) with the same cable. Both connections are in so not sure what the issue could be.

There is an option ot load drivers but I don't have a CD drive. I could find a usb and put the drivers on that and go from there? But i didn't think i needed to do that?

FYI this is the first boot up of a totally new build.

Do i need to plug int he SATA cables into sata 0 and 1? or any sata conneciton?

Also if i try a different sata port or cable do I need to switch off the computer first and then restart it once changed for it to recognize the change?

Yeah, don't work on any cable if the computer is on.

Do they show up in bios? Try just with the SSD?

They didn't, I'll unplug the HDD for now and do just the SSD into sata0

My bootable USB is. Should I try a different cable maybe? There are 2 others but funny that the two i used for my disks would both be faulty...

Also saw something in bios was not set to RAID? Not sure if that sort of stuff matters.

Yet try another cable, is the power to the psu to the ssd/hdd plug in since your psu is modular

Don't I look like an idiot now LOL first build...

Will give it a go, found the 'peripheral sata section' on the PSU

Got it working forgot the connection to the PSU... atleast I can use the "It's my first build excuse" right?

Anyway looks all good now installed windows. Only issue is the 3.5" isn't being recognized in My computer. It was recognized during the installation process though. Is there a setting in BIOS or maybe in windows for this to work?

Good. We are all noob one time.
1)make sure the HDD was unattach when install windows to the SSD.
2)Once windows are install, go to disk management and assign a drive letter to the HDD, might need to format it first, assuming it a new blank drive.

HDD was just allocated it appears. So allocated and quick formatted it and it appeared. Just working out why under display adapters my GPU isn't listed but i am running my monitor through my GPU as we speak hmmm

Installed the Driver and was recognised Going to install the rest of the drivers (MB, Network card, etc..) today.

One thing I was wondering though, I tend to use this PC mainly for programming and some gaming (CS:GO and Diablo 3 mainly). Have read that I should install programs/games I use frequently on the SSD and the rest on the HDD.

So would you install visual studio on the SSD and the games on the HDD since I don't use them as frequently? I did install chrome on the SSD. Also I noticed though was the HDD does not have program files or program files (x86) folders. Do they get created automatically or do I need to format it a certain way before I install to it?

250GB SSD Install the VS on ssd. depend on the size of your project. could go either ssd or hdd.
Those 2 games is not that big. might just keep in hdd.
