NonOCed tr4 idles @ 3.7ghz then drops to 3.4ghz when running Prime

Basically it's just a setting that will let the CPU run at max turbo boost even with all cores active. The setting exist on Intel Z series motherboards and I can only assume there is a similar setting on AMD boards. You will have to look it up in the mobo manual.


Yes, when all cores are used, as they are in prime95, you will only run at the Base Clock speed. Max Turbo clock which is 4GHz is only when a single core is used. I do however believe there is a setting in BIOS that will overclock the CPU to use Max Turbo boost speed with all cores active. Something like Sync all cores or something.
