I'm new to building PC's, and am coming from the dark side (Mac). I need a PC that will handle HD video editing, and occasional encoding, as well as gaming on high-ultra settings. I've picked out some parts that I feel would work for me, but if someone could look over it and offer some pointers that would be awesome! Too many fans? Not enough memory? etc.

Thanks!

Cooler Master HAF 912 as the tower

Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 motherboard
MSI GeForce GTX 760

AMD FX-6350 6-core
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
Cooler Master Silent Pro M - 1000 W supply
LG Black blu-ray drive

Awesome, thanks! I wasn't sure if it was wise to just budget for more power than I needed or not.

My budget is somewhere around $1,000. All those pieces are about $1,000 total (I'm Canadian. Garbage dollar).

But really, a new Mac that suits my needs it around $2500, so I can wiggle a bit around $1,000 if the right part comes along.
