So i have a 27" samsung monitor 144hz 1080p.
in nvidia control i can see under DSR
  • 1080p, 2715 x 1527 hd (2x) -120hz
  • 2715 x 1527 (2x) - 144hz

i still have my normal desktop at 1080p. but in games i see the DSR resolution as an option.
Ive never rly played in higher res so im a noob when it comes to spotting the difference (if there was) but if i change my ingame res one of the DSR ones (2715 x 1527 144hz). What res am i exactly on? how does it work?

Solution
Possibly may look similar but pixel density on a 1440p screen is higher so not quite.

27" 1080p monitor has a pixel density of about 81 pixel per inch. 27" 1440p monitor about 108 ppi.

Dsr renders at a higher resolution and scales it back down to 1080p. Kinda like antialiasing. Can be hard to notice, need to focus on edges on objects to see dsr working.
ahh. so is the custom resolution under my dsr (2715 x 1527) similar to how 1440p res would look if i had a 1440p native monitor.
