Noob question,, can a blu ray be used as a ssd

As above, can you use blu ray as a ssd, say store call of duty on blu ray and play it from there??

Is blu ray slower then hdd ??

You can't use blu ray as an ssd, because - wait for it - it isn't the same kind of device.

Blu ray is slower than HDD.

I'm not sure what you want to do. Are you desperately short of hard drive space and looking to install COD on a directory on your BD, then play from that directory? It sounds awfully slow, and chancy.

Hi cheers for the quick reply, just wiki the transfer rates so king have answered my question, but also trying to justify getting a blu ray instead of a dvd drive.
