Greetings Nethackers,

Can anybody tell me, Do closed shops open later? If so, about how many
turns later?

TIA

Nope. You have to unlock the doors to them.

When you open them.

If you are really desparate, you can kick the door down. However it's
going to cost you quite a bit of cash to pay for the damage.

IIRC, they don't.
But you can still get in if you unlock the door before opening it (or if
you crash the door and then appease the shopkeeper one way or another, of
course).

Hypocoristiquement,
Jym.

Hmm, for a second I thought by cvpxvat you meant cvpxnkr... :)

But yes, a ybpx cvpx is quite useful here.

They won't by themselves, but they wouldn't chase
away a customer who manages to enter.

There are at least five ways to enter a closed shop
(snyyvat qbja gb gur yriry vagb gur fubc, cvpxvat/
qrfgeblvat gur qbbe, gryrcbegvat, qvttvat guebhtu gur
fubc'f jnyy, cunfvat juvyr cbylzbecurq vagb n kbea), but
be aware that shop owners don't appreciate it when
their property is damaged, and unless you can pay a
compensation for such damage, you might be in some
trouble.

Best,
Jakob
