Question Noob question. What Windows 10 version - (Home) or (Pro) is easier to hack or harder to fill the security gaps?

Hi all,

I have just finished building a new gaming Pc after my last Pc and network got hacked so I am wondering what W10 version out of Home & Pro is the most secure at default?
I was using Pro on my last Pc but the hackers who gained entry to my system via a game client ended up gaining control of various programs including the remote access and as the W10 Home version does not have that added to it's software as well as other programmes and functions I was going to consider using Home again.
Would the kind TH members educate me on the major differences between the two as well as what version is safer and less likely to be hacked with ease if there is one out of the two.
apologies for the noob question but I am trying to make sure I do not get hacked again and to get up to speed so I don't have to rely on others with questions like this in the future.
Thanks in advance.

That was almost certainly user induced.
Something you downloaded and installed, or some bad resource you connected to.

It wasn't a matter of Home vs Pro.

Pro just has some corporate level features you almost certainly do not need.
Feature comparison:

It is neither less or more secure than Home.

The best protection tool exists between your ears.

Microsoft never says that Pro version will stop hackers from entering your system.

The only significant difference that if you use a laptop, your laptop might be better protected against data leak when the laptop is stolen. In fact the Pro comes with BitLocker that can secure your entire data once you activate this feature.

Ok first of all the hack did come from the game client and it was not me being careless. I also know the group that did it and the reasons why plus they had inside help from corrupt games mods & devs.
I also had various anti virus software and programs protecting me and lastly that Pc was set up solely for that game and nothing else so no online activity that would be involved.
I also did not claim it had anything to do with what version it would of been other than the Windows 10 pro that I was using had the remote access function privileges taken from the admin account and given to another user account that they used to hijack the machine.
Lastly I also had bitlocker on but even that was a waste of time.
I would add though that this was done by serious computer specialist involved across three game company's and two of them where Chinese company's.
It also involved who would be no.1 and who would be on top to move the game forward for the future and my time associated with this game spanned nearly 12 years so a very long time.

I am also asking these questions so that my new gaming machine and new router-network are set up so this time no mistakes will be made and I will be ready just in case they try again but I doubt they will as last time I did not expect that to happen on the game I played for years without an incident remotely like that and so I wasn't even prepared for an attack like that. This time I will be ready.
Thank you all for your replies and links. Much appreciated 👍

For something malicious that you download and install, AV tools can be less than useful.
By doing that, you are mostly telling it that YOU think it is OK.

This harkens back to "the thing that exists between your ears".
AKA....don't download malicious files. Period.

BitLocker has no effect on any malware or virus.

Again I didn't download anything nor was I careless. In fact I am very security conscious when doing anything with my Pc and I use various programs apps & software to keep me protected and the game I am referring to is a legit game based from one if not the most famous Sci Fi franchise and tv series in the world and a game I had been playing at the highest level for nearly 12 years with no major issues but again I was hacked with ease due to allowing the game client through my firewall as we all do if we want to play online games.
I would love to go in to more details about everything that happened but to do that it would take forever and I am sure everyone has better things to do rather than listen to my hacked network issues.
Anyway thank you all again for leaving your replies.
Much appreciated. Also apologies for the late reply.

Regards

Hicks

One last note that will also show that this was done via the game is that in the 20 plus years that I have been using Pc's and the internet this is the first time I have ever been attacked and hacked like this and it only happened because of certain in game instances and the fact that I was the most known player in the game but I had made enemies with groups closely connected to certain staff members so the attack was a premeditated pre planned attack by high end players and groups who wanted to get me removed or my data affected so it didn't show the community who was on top.
There is a real story here but that will come to light in years to come as my days involved in the game are over after I won and did what I promised the masses.
