Normal graphics card idle fan speed

Hello,
I was wondering what the normal idle fan speed for something like a radeon 7870 ghz would be, running just a browser with a couple of tabs. Mine never gets below 2480 rpm and sounds pretty loud, but sits at 35C.

2480 RPM is too high and will surely make more noise. It usually spins below 2000 RPM and 28 dba at an average

you really shouldn't be able to hear your gpu at idle. Did you accidentally turn on manual fan control?
