Normal Temperature for GTX 780?

Is it normal for my GPU to run at 78C when gaming even though it is not overclocked, and the fan speed set on auto
And what is the maximum temperature for 780 to run normal before thermal throttling?

i run gigabyte windforce 780, i run custom fan and dont see much throttling before 89c, must change temp target in software, i use oc guru from gigabyte. on auto fan profile 78c is right where it should be, out of the box settings the gpu is trying to hit 80c and stay there.

When I changed the fan settings in guro the GPU becomes a little noisy, but the temperature will drop to 69C, when fan speed is 80%

i set down the power target to 62% and get only maybe 10% performance hit in gpu intensive games, then fan could be set to 30%, very quiet.
