Normal temps for Anthlon x4 750k?

Wanted to know what are normal temps for an Anthlon x4 750k. At idle i'm 40c -50c and at load i get up to 71c. Are these temps too high? I'm also using a hyper 212 evo with stock paste.
 
That case should be fine for that CPU/cooler as far as air flow goes. Do you just have the stock rear fan only for cooling? I'd add a front fan to start with. But I don't think that's your problem. I would re-check the mounting of the EVO. I have the EVO on both of my desktops and the mounting is a little bit tricky. If you can twist it from side to side easily, it may not be making good contact with the CPU's heat spreader.
 
I did a quick search of your issue and found a bunch of folks having trouble with monitoring temps with their Trinity's. And thinking back on my one experience with APUs; the A10-5800k, I seem to remember having a similar problem. Couldn't get accurate temp readings. If I remember correctly (and that isn't for sure), it seems that AMD's Overdrive was all that worked.
 
Correction: Overdrive didn't work either. It's all coming back to me now...

Here is what I found when searching for the problem with my APU:
"The other problem I ran into was the inability of any temperature monitoring software to correctly monitor the APU’s temperatures. Even the EasyTune6 software from Gigabyte would not give correct temperatures. I ran a stress test at 1.5 V to the CPU and it showed 40 °C as a maximum temperature; I think not! AIDA64 showed 27 °C; no way. This pattern held true for the many monitoring utilities I tried. Even AMD’s own Overdrive software was whacked out when it comes to temperature monitoring; have a look at the picture below. the screen shot was taken while sitting idle at the desktop with the CPU clocked to 4.4 GHz."

Since idle temps matter little, I would just go with the high end temps you get stressing the processor. I believe that was what I finally ended up doing. My idle temps were way off, but the stressed temps seemed normal. I'm afraid that is just an anomaly of that line of processors. Google it and you'll see what I mean.

72C is OK-ish for Prime95. But is the EVO fan speeding up to full speed when that temp occurs? And is 72C just a peak or does it stabilize at 72C when running Prime95?
 
OK. I assume the fan didn't speed up because the 72C temp didn't stay around long enough. High 60s are good temps in Prime. When you are stressing the processor with prime95 for an extended period of time, you may want to turn off C&Q in BIOS so the fan can run at its highest speed. Then switch back to C&Q after testing. After all, you're just trying to see if an O/C is stable.
 


That's a little bit too high. I'm using the stock heatsink and the CPU boosted @ 3700MHz and it doesn't get past 65C after a few hours of gaming, but i keep my case open because it's not properly ventilated (it's not designed for gaming PCs, it's a basic mini ATX case). Idle temp is somewhere between 36C and 40C. Check your heatsink attachment and use a good thermal paste eventualy.

Me and Alin above figured out HWmonitor doesn't check temps on most AMD CPUs properly. Use AIDA64 for proper CPU temps

As far as i know, HWMonitor shows on CPU0 (or TMPIN0) the same as AIDA64 shows on CPU, and that's exactly what BIOS reads from the CPU's thermal diode too :). Never even think to look at the "Package" temperature in HWMonitor because it's just an assumption based on i don't know what calculation. The only thing i use HWMonitor for is that it shows Min-Max values.
