Hey, I recently got an i5 2500k, and I'm getting rather questionable temperatures. I'm using the cryorig h7 cpu cooler, and getting 47c on idle, and up to 70c after two minutes of stress testing. My old 6300 idle'd at 33c, and rarely reached 60c. Is something wrong, or do I just need to wait for the paste to set in? Also, I have my side panel off, should I have that on, or will that just increase the temps further? Thanks, and these temps are from hwinfo. Also running at stock speed, no oc yet.

Solution
my pc runs 29 idle and 63 under load. You might not have put your thermal paste on correctly. put a pea size dot in the middle of the processor and put the heatsink back on (that will spread it) Also its nothing wrong with leaving the side panel off, but you risk alot of dust getting inside of it, especially if you have pets.

See if you can verify temps with CORE TEMP (LINK)
