On the CPU and the north bridge, i've put a bite of

thermo paste, that's done...

but when i opened the south bridge, i found thermo

pad in instead of thermo past...

do you guys think that it's okay to put some thermo

past in the south bridge, or that will break the M.B ?

The bigger issue you have is you don't have screws on the MCH (Or whatever AMD calls it.) but pins. They are cut for the height of the pad. Try to reuse the pins but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't work anymore. The thermal adhesive I mentioned earlier will work.

If this was an Intel build they would call it a MCH. Or they did last I heard. If AMD still wants to call it the SB that's their call. The NB now sits on the CPU itself, so as I said I suspect you removed the sink on the VRMs. That could come back to bite you. Those pins are cut for the height of the pad so they might not work anymore.
Opened the SB? What are you talking about?

Assuming you meant removed the heatsink, there probably is a pad on the SB. Did your SB have mounting screws? A pad would be used if there was no screws to hold it in place. You'll need to use thermal adhesive if that's the case. You can use paste if you can screw it back on.

I think you should not have messed with it. I thought this was an old board you were learning with, not a modern 970 board. This board has no NB. I'm assuming you messed with the sink covering the VRMs. The bigger issue you have is you don't have screws on the MCH (Or whatever AMD calls it.) but pins. They are cut for the height of the pad. Try to reuse the pins but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't work anymore. The thermal adhesive I mentioned earlier will work. The sink shouldn't ever be removable after that however.
