Question Norton Backup Codes Location

I activated Norton two factor authentication some time ago, but now the app. is no longer co operating. I need to locate the backup codes on my system to access my account.
So far, searches have been fruitless.
What file extension would the codes be under?
Would they have been sent via email of are they in the software somewhere?

I have asked Norton and they will not assist with this. Their response is "create a new email and open a new account...."
I saw the codes long time ago on one of my lap tops but need help tracking them down.
