Norton Slowing Downloads

I had a look at my reports from norton antivirus and under the category "Internet Worms" and in the subdirectory "Connections" , i'm getting a report every 1-2 seconds. I'm sure this is what's slowing my download speed. Usually they are just random I.P.'s but also toms hardware ect. also showing up.

On top of that, under "Activities" it says every 3 seconds I get the same message

"Unused port blocking has blocked communications.

Details: Unused port blocking has blocked communications.
Inbound TCP connection."

What is going on?

Ditch that crap and get Avast! I suppose it could be slowing your connection, but I know for sure that it's slowing your computer.

don't use symantec/norton crap. they will slow ur computer, internet, sexual life. just kidding abou the sex life but if i take into account the stress it produces then i could be right.

i'd use kaspersky antivir pro 5.0 and agnitium outpost wich is now 3.5 version and i would disable the logging and all the plugins except the "attack detection" one. works beautifully.
