Norton Systemworks

Hi

I am considering buying Norton Systemworks 2001 over Norton AntiVirus 2001 because systemworks comes with Symantecs defragramenter. But before making the purchase, I wish to know how the defragramenter in question (the one included in Norton Systemworks) compares to the default Window 2000 and Windows 98 defragramenters.

All help and suggestions are higly appreciated. CHEERS!

A nice day to all.

I was beginning to wonder if anyone did read this forum. I would get 2002 as you've suggest but I don't have teh money. The copy of 2001 that I'm getting is second, which I'm buying from the Anandtech, For Trade/For sale forum.

Again, thank you very much for you reply. Have a great night. CHEERS!

A nice day to all.

System Works 2001 works great in Win98 and ok in Win2k if you don't have the NTFS file system in Win2k.
My experience with both 2001 and 2002 Norton System Works is: With Win2k and WinXP formated with NTFS
it is slow and can't do some of the functions without locking up. NSW 2001 is not much different from 2002 except
2002 is compatable with WinXP where 2001 is not. The anti-virus is really great and it makes no difference
which package you buy. The defrag is better than the stock Windows one and works faster on Fat32 than NTFS file system.

Well, from what you typed, I gather that I'll have to drop down $40 dollars to get the item, THEN mail in the coupon for the $20 rebate.

In my financial situation, I can't afford to spend $40 on software, so instead I'm buying Norton SystemWorks 2001 from a seller on Anandtech's forum for $10, including shipping. ;))

Thanks for all your replies guys. You said exactly what I wanted, which is a rare thing in the computer world. CHEERS!

A great day to you all.

yep, you could get it for free, but I admire this guy, short on money and buying software, I mean, a lot of people who can easily afford some of the more expensive stuff still "aquire" it

If they squeeze olives to get olive oil, how do they get baby oil?

If you are using Win2000pro NSW is a great product and the defrag tool is awesome. I have found NSW incompatible with Win2000Server though.

there are absolutely no absolutes
