I just picked up one of these the other day and I must say this is THE BEST gaming divice I've ever had. Fully programable and very comfortable. Has anyone else tried one yet ?

I've been wanting to, but I fear I shall be made fun of by my friends
Also, I can't imagine that it'd be worth losing my keyboard, but who knows. I'll probably pick one up someday to try it out.

You don't loose your keyboard........or joystick.....or mouse. It plugs into a USB and can be used with all the above.

I know, but it's more effort to move your hand from the pad to the keyboard to type out a message.

Had mine since the holidays and love it. It takes some getting used to, but with the software, you can set up multiple games to use similar keys so you don't have to learn a whole new set of keyboard commands. It will run macros too, though I haven't found need for this feature just yet. I use it mainly for FPS's like Quake or RTCW or Deux Ex. It takes a little time to set everything up to work similar, but it's worth the effort.

Yeah, it's a bear to have to shift to your keyboard to chat, but who chats? I just play.

And I know I'll get boos and hisses for this, but I also use a Razer Boomslang mouse too. I don't like to miss!

I use the macro in Wolf and MOH. I press the game pad down button on the side and it switches me to a grenade, throws it, and then switched me back to the weapon I started with.
If I need to, I can press and hold the fire button right after the macro button to hold it. Took alittle messing to get it to work (had to ajust the sec. inbetween key srokes, but it works great now and I use grenades (and get more frags) then ever.

I want to get one, but I'm torn between the Nostromo n50 and The Claw. Any suggestions?

Don't know about the claw. It looks alittle pricey tho. I payed 40.00 CND for the SpeedPad, which is about 26.00 US.

ditto on this device vs. the claw. Hopefully somone will chime in, or maybe there's a review somewhere.

It's always the one thing you never suspected.
