Not a valid win32 application?

Hello,
I was wondering why on my new laptop (windows7), I can't open any excel documents that i make with excel (office2007).
It just tells me that the file is not a valid win32 application.
My version of Office2007 is a 32bit app. if that has anything to do with it.
What do I do? Any help would be appreciated!

Tried reinstalling Office for starters? Does this happen with all office docs you open on the laptop? Just docs you create on that laptop, then try to open? Docs you create on another system, then try to open on the laptop. Please provide more detail.
