Greetings, I have a MSI GT72S laptop that has been working great either by Ethernet connection or WiFi connection until I ordered a new WiFi Modem from my cable company. What is happening when I try to go to the internet or play any of my online games they are blocked. The error message I get when I run the troubleshooter is as follows (Security or Firewall settings might be blocking Content).

I have turned off my firewalls I have added different apps to be allowed in the firewall but it doesn't work.

I can still connect to the old WiFi modem without an issue (except lag on games).

System: MSI GT72S
OS: Windows 10 64Bit
AntiVirus: Webroot
MalwareBytes Used

I would assume that OP is referring to windows firewall.
Very rarely does the ISP provided modem/router combos have custom IPtables or SPI firewall. At best would only be able to disable the "NAT firewall" by allowing full passthru; this would the equivalent of completely removing the doors on your house and/or car so obviously not advised.

This was provided by the Cable company by the way. so I am assuming that the MAC was inputted. The adapters are set to DHCP.

What is weird is my laptop works on one WiFi modem but not the new one.
