Good Morning/Afternoon,
I recently bought a Netis Gigabit Unmanaged Switch (ST-3116G) and connected it to the router, and connected 9 computers to the switch.

The problem im having is that only 3 computers are getting 1000mbs while the rest are running at 100mbs. I've changed the ports, updated the drivers, and changed all LAN cables to CAT5E (10m). It still won't give me 1000mbs for the other computers. I've also tried changing the speed and duplex manually to 1.0Gbs and that didn't work or help.

Is there any way that i can possibly make it so that all computers run at 1000mbs?

and i would also like to know if i install a SSD and load programs on to it, will it be faster for everyone on the network to access it and use it?

Thanks

There are pretty much only 3 things. The cable, the port on the switch, the port on the pc.

The most common is the cable. Cables can work fine on some machines but not others. I would buy a couple new patch cables to test with. If you have cables in the wall it is likely going to be problems with one of the ends not being properly connected. Make sure you get pure copper cables and do not use that flat or thin cable, none of it is actually certified cable.

You need to hope it is the cable. The port in the pc has few software option. You need to leave it all set on auto. You can only use the other options if you can manually set both ends which you can't with a unmanaged switch. You could check the drivers for the nic but that is not likely the problem. After that you are dealing with physical problems with the port itself or the chips on the motherboard. You generally can't fix a broken motherboard port you have to use some add in card.

Just found out now that some of the computers didnt update propery. I finished updating ine of the computers and it is now showing that it can get 1000mbs.

Thanks for you help and in sight!
