not able to initialise my hard drive

i have an 2 TB WD my passport , it gets connected but doesnt give any display,
i went into the disk management and den showed the display name of the disk its the 'disk1' with a red circle with a down arrow inside it , den i tried initialising but i was able to operate 'initialise disk' option
plz help me with dis issue????

Sorry that you are facing some issues with your WD drive. 🙁
What is the error message that you get?

I believe you can try a couple of simple things:
- Attach the drive with a different cable to another USB port, so you can see if this is some sort of a connection related issue.
- Attach the drive to another computer.

In case the issue persists, then there is something wrong with the enclosure or the HDD itself.
Unfortunately, in both cases, you will need to contact a data recovery company if the data stored on it is really important. You can check WD's Data Recovery Partners out: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=HCGmTp
