Hello,

I have purchased this motherboard GIGABYTE GA-970A-DS3P FX (rev. 2.1)

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813145022

and this CPU cooler MasterLiquid Lite 240 Liquid Cooling System

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103252

You can see that the product says its compatible with AM3 and AM3+ CPUs.

However when I open the CPU cooler box and try to install the base plate on the motherboard. there is just no way to fit it.

do you know if these two parts work together. is there any tutorial or instruction guides which can help me install the plate?

Here is a picture of the base plate of cooler on the back of my motherboard. https://imgur.com/nHnqFDj

Oh. I get it now. we don't need that plastic thing at the back of the motherboard. we just put this as a clip on top of the existing bracket. got it. thanks a lot!
