Your facing the Problem Because of the Windows Vista is the Latest Version of Windows Over XP . so, you are not able to Install Windows XP on Windows Vista.

But now the XP is very needful for you then you can Format your Laptop and Install Windows XP first and then
Install Vista.

Or, you can use the VMware softwares for installing any Operation System on Live OS.

Maybe OP can give you some pointers.
