not able to manually overclock

i have a gigabyte z270m-d3h motherboard and a i5 7600k but for some reason i'm not able to manually overclock i can use the preset to give myself a overclock to 4.6ghz but i know it will go higher if i could change the voltage and the frequency, i can't even change my ram settings and i know my ram will do 2400 mz

The i5 7600K must be cooled properly since it gets extremely hot above 4.0GHz.
Not all CPUs are the same, some i5 7600K won't go above their max turbo speed (4.20 GHz).

Can you explain the reason why you cannot change settings manually?
Are the settings not available?
Are the settings changes not saved?

Could you post all your system components.

The setting seem to not be able to be changed I have Adequate cooling and I am able to get to 4.6 ghz just by going to upgrade cpu and selecting i5 7600k @ 4.6 but I have no control other than that I am the admin of the system

Are you performing those changes in the BIOS?
Which BIOS version?

I flashed the bios to the most recent bios I am trying to make changes in the bios but it won’t let me

For mild and easy overclocking, the Gigabyte BIOS allows you to do this by using their EZ OC option. It will automatically choose the best settings for maximum performance.

Alternatively, do not use the EZ OC options. Instead use the advanced options.

for some reason my bios has no xmp setting it is a z270m-d3h and everything is locked i'm not even able to change my memory setting

could this be related to missing pins my motherboard is missing 3 pin my first 2 ram slots don't work, but everything else is fine

These are the damaged pins, I cannot tell you exactly which features are affected maybe someone else here might know.
If no one else respond, then you could open another post and copy that info.

PIN AW4: DDR0_DQ[45] / DDR1_DQ [13]
PIN C4: PEG_TXN[2]
PIN D16: BMP#[0]
PIN G36: VCCGT

hey so i think i might have found a work around for my overclocking problems i installed gigabyte easytune i'm still not able to overclock my cpu but now i can get my ram to 2700mhz, and i might be able to overclock my cpu if someone esle has a the software and a i5 7600k if they could send me 1 of their saved profiles i might be able to load it into the software, i am currenrtly at 4.6ghz @ 1.25v i would like to push it to 4.8 at 1.3v

i did make another thread but they pointed me to intel extreme tuning utility now my cpu is running @ 5ghz on the first 3 cores and 4.9 on core 4 @1.355v 71c

The temperature thought, I hope that's load temperature.
