Question Not able to select XMP profile on Asus Maximus Z690 Hero ?

I have just finished building a new PC:

ASUS MAXIMUS HERO Z690
I9-12900K
4 x Gskill Trident Z5 RGB Series 6000Mhz (64 GB total)
GPU: MSI Supreme 3080
PSU: EVGA 1300GT

Storage:
Corsair MP600 M.2. NVME 1TB Main windows
Samsung 980 Pro M.2. 2TB
Samsung 970 EVO M.2. 256GB
2x4TB WD Black
1x8TB WD Gold



At first there was no display and LED code was 98. Led was green.
It took me a lot of time, hit and miss etc then i removed 2 Rams and it booted into BIOS. Somehow i was able to install Windows and and installed other 2 rams also but in bios as soon as i selected Profile XMP by default it was showing Ram Speed 6000 selected Save and exit ... then again it was stuck in endless loop, not booting ?

Did CMOS reset still nothing.
Again had to remove rams still nothing then did CMOS reset again while only 1 Ram was inserted power off for few min then on again it booted working fine and ram settings was 4000 Again i tried but this time 5600Mhz Ram speed still same thing ?

Please tell me what i am doing wrong here, and yes i did update the bios.

In it's current state, with one stick of ram populating slot A2, see if you can get into BIOS and see what your current BIOS version is. As for the CMOS thing, you're advised to disconnect from the wall and display, then remove the CMOS battery for at least 30 minutes. With that, you can press and hold down the power button to drain any residual power from the board. Replace the battery, then try with two sticks of ram, populating slots A2 and B2.

Just an FYI, it's good practice to enable X.M.P after you've installed the OS.

1st of all thanks for your reply since yesterday i am at this point soo tired and frustrated too
i am not able to figure out what is wrong in the system it boots and sometimes it does not
and when it wont boot i have to remove GPU. RAMS, try with single RAM clear CMOS remove all USB cables then there is a chance it may boot but still not a guarantee


Today while installing windows too got these errors BSOD

System Service Exception
IRQL_not_less_or_equal
Critical Process Died

Right now while writing this its stock ever thing in windows 11 i am even scared to reboot for driver install i am not even sure it will boot again or not

It seems one of the Ram was Faulty

When all 4 Rams were inserted i ran memory test tool windows inbuilt it gave error
later i tried all rams one by one in motherboard slot A2 no error in any of the ram

now i think its the board? one of the port

It seems its the 12th Gen issue
with 2 RAM system is running perfectly fine @6000mhz but when you use 4 Ram there will be issues
and best it can run only at default 4000

So always go for 2 Rams only
