not all ram modules recognized in windows 10

i have 4 modules (3x2gb and 1x4gb, total:10gb) 1600mhz ddr3 and windows recognize only 8gb and it reads it as ddr2.....any ideas??

Your if its older if its using ddr2 may only see 8 gig as the maxium amount of ram you can install a lot of the older boards would max out at 8 gigs period.

My mobo is old (2008, you can see below...) but not old enough for this..
I had my OS(win10pro x64) recognize 10 gigs (but ddr2) 2 months ago (only thing changed is CPU Freq and new gpu)
and before the extra 1x4GB module, in windows 7 i had 6 GB recognized correctly as ddr3
