hi, i recently downloaded kali linux 2018.2 and tried installing it after making a bootable USB using Rufus(in HybridISO mode) and it doesn't install in any PC cuz it cant read the linux files after launching its setup. So, i heard you needed to create a bootable USB in DD image mode.

I did it, then.....when i inserted and tried in my laptop, it didnt even boot to the USB and directly booted to windows. Changed boot order tried everything in the BIOS and still not working. Tried the DD image booted USB in my other PC's and it worked! But in my laptop, it doesn't work.

Please help! The USB is detected but doesnt boot to the kali linux setup in DD image USB :/

And no, there isn't any problem with the USB ports or anything and i have recently installed windows 8.1 too on it without any problems....

Please help 🙁

thanks in advance!

I do not have that option except for "USB legacy mode" which i have tried.

Also, when i went back to Rufus and inserted my USB into it, it said "Multiple partitions" as the name of the USB 0-0

You should try a more mainstream distro like Mint or Ubuntu to verify that things are working correctly.

Kali isn't really meant to be installed, it's meant to run live or in a VM. Actually, for a "daily driver", it's probably one of the worst choices out there.
