Computer with Windows 10. All working normally until one day it does not boot up. Black screen with blinking underscore. Maybe Hard-disk not properly plug in, re-plug everything making sure all alright. Still not working.
I used my computer (the one with the problem is my GF's) to download windows 10 repair or install onto a USB stick.
-System Restore, it says to specify which windows installation to restore and tells me nothing more.
-Start up repair finds/repairs nothing
-Back to previous version doesn't work either
-No image for system recovery
-When choosing to go through installation, on an external drive it says "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition Table. On EFI systems windows only on GPT. Set up doesn't support configuration of or installation to disks connected through a USB or IEEE 1394 port."
-When trying to install the hard drive it says only "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition Table. On EFI systems windows only on GPT" and doesn't let me also.
-The upgrade option isn't available if you start your computer using windows installation media to start windows and asks me to start windows normally to do so, which i cant.
-I searched online and it told me to deactivate EFI boot sources as a first steps on the BIOS, the BIOS only shows Legacy and UEFI boot sources, and deactivating UEFI makes it unable to boot from the USB stick.
-There is an option to Load drivers, which detects none but when asked to search manually, i can see the hard drive in the PC. I can enter the folders, see the program folders andall the info as you would on documents.
I do not know what else to try.
I also tried to use a windows 7 instead of 10 to install but had the same problems.
