Not Detecting Headphones?

Hello! First, apologies if this is in the wrong section. I've recently gone from a headset with USB to one that doesn't and I cannot get my PC to detect them. I've tried most internet tutorials but they still will not detect and I'm unsure where to go. The headset is Plantronics GameCom 380 and my PC is constantly telling me they aren't plugged in.

I've tried resetting
I've tried front and back jacks on my PC
Updating drivers
All the options in control panel for sound etc.

I'd really appreciate help, feel free to ask for any info or questions since I've probably done a bad job of explaining myself! Thanks!

Did you uninstall the software for the USB ones? The 3.5mm jack headphones should be plug and play.
