Hello,
my Dell E4300 is from 2009 I bought it on ebay and have an SSD installed. I bought it for my grandfather. Unfortunately computrace is enabled. It seems to be a real backdoor and can not be disabled. It seems to run on Windows and Linux but maybe only Debian distributions. Do you think if I install another Linux distribution I am safe? I hope this topic is in order and nobody thinks that I stole a nearly worthless old notebook.

Whether you stole it or not, circumventing this is strictly off limits here.
Forum rules specifically prevent assistance with this.

Contact the ebay seller.
