Not enough frames

Ok so I'm having and odd issue so let's start with my build specs
CPU:Intel i7 5960X
GPU: MSI gtx 980ti(X2)
Ram: 24 GB
MOBO: MSI X99 gaming 7
So I moved my system into a new case and noticed I'm not getting the frames I should be, so I unplugged and re-seated my Gpus and got my frames almost back. Then I came home from work and noticed my frames dropped again and whenever I played for longer than 5 minutes my computer hard crashed. So I unplugged my 2nd GPU and that seems to fix the crashing issue but I still feel I'm not getting the right frames. 45 on ultra fallout 4 and 17-22 on deus ex mankind divided. Could it be something other than my cards?

If it happened right after you moved the parts to a new case, re-seat the CPU/heatsink with new thermal paste. Could be a heat issue. Do either of the video cards work fine on their own without crashing? All power plugs in OK?

I have one in and it stopped crashing but my frames are still really low. Like 17 on medium overwatch. I'll try reseating when I get home

Likely overheating, see what happens. Also reseat the RAM.
