If I understand the manual correctly, it should be fine to connect only the 8-pin connector and leave the 4-pin one free.
This will, of course, depend on if you plan over clocking or not. I'd suggest updating your PSU to one that has the relevant connectors if you do plan to over clock.

Solution

You can use adapter: PCIE 8pin to 4+4 EPS/ATX12V or
PCIE 6pin to 4+4 EPS/ATX12V.
