Hello Tom's Hardware forum, this is my first time posting.
We recently upgraded to Gigabit connection and my internet speedtests are running still at 200-225 mbps, while my roommates internet connection is running at 800+.
Things I have done to troubleshoot:
Reset router (Nighthawk x6 R8000) to default settings
Reset modem (Netgear CM1000)
Changed out cable from modem to router with Cat7 cable.
Changed out cable running from router (Port 1) to cable with brand new Cat7 cable. *Note, roommate is running cat5e, I was previously as well.*
Checked coax connections while reseating
Ensured drivers are up to date on Network card
Reset network adapter options, with this guide - https://www.geeksinphoenix.com/blog/post/2015/06/16/how-to-reset-your-network-adapter-in-windows-10.aspx
Set QoS on local machine to 95% through registry using this guide - https://dottech.org/26628/how-to-force-windows-to-use-100-of-your-network-bandwidth-how-to-guide/
Updated bios to most recent version through UEFI bios updater, now running bios update 1301 on motherboard below.
Disabled QoS Scheduler in network adapter settings
Ensured Wireless connections were disabled from control panel.
Did an ipconfig /release /flushdns /renew
Uninstalled ASUS Aura software from machine, I heard it could cause issues.
Anything else I missed? I'm really confused on what else to try out, since I can't think of anything else on the local machine that would cause this issue. I've looked online for any motherboard updates for my board and afaik, I'm on the latest version. I'm not receiving any packet loss or lag in-game, just slower speeds and I want to get the full speeds that I'm paying for. Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you!
Running Windows 10 64 bit
System Specs:
Processor: Intel 7600k
Cooler: Corsair H115i
Motherboard: Asus Maximus Code IX
Video Card: GeForce 1070 GTX
RAM: DDR4 Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB
PSU: 750W Corsair CX750M
Case: Corsair Obsidian series 650D\
