Hi guys. Today I got another 2 sticks of RAM to got with my two sticks I bought when first building my PC (around 3 months ago). It only seems to boot though with 2 sticks in, it doesn't matter if its the old RAM that I already had or the new RAM.

My mobo is the GA-Z97X - Gaming 7 and the RAM I already had and the new I bought is this

I've tried both sets by putting them in slots 1 & 3 and then again with 2 & 4, it just doesn't boot with all 4 in.

Solution
Ram is sold in kits for a reason.
A motherboard must manage all the ram using the same specs of voltage, cas and speed.
Ram from the same vendor and part number can be made up of differing manufacturing components over time.
Some motherboards can be very sensitive to this.
That is why ram vendors will NOT support ram that is not bought in one kit.
Although, I think the problem has lessened with the newer Intel chipsets. Still,
it is safer to get what you need in one kit.

Managing 4 sticks of ram is harder for a motherboard to manage.

In the bios, try upping the ram voltage a touch with two sticks installed, then add the other two.

Hi I'm coming back to this because at the time changing the voltage worked, I recently had to cmos and change the voltage back, except it's not letting me change it at all, the option is there but then when I change it the setting isn't saved and the pc won't boot with all 4 sticks

I have the same problem. 4 sticks of corsair vengeance, 1600MHz, 1.5v, 9-9-9-24. The only thing different are the versions, two being 2.12, the other two are 5.21. Could that be why they are not working together? I have the same mobo as well.
