Just plugged in my new SATA 1tb WD hdd above my old SATA 500gb one. Turned on my pc, it sais to restart because of a composite device, (dont know if it is my drive). Anyway it will not appear in device manager, data management or anywhere. HELP?!

Solution
Hi

First place to check is in bios settings for hard disk being recognised
If not seen in bios windows will not see it

Check both cables plugged in properly
Check data cable on connection at motherboard and hard drive

If still not seen check in bios that sata port is not disabled
Some motherboards have two sata chips second needs enabling and driver

Consult motherboard user guide

If you need more help give more info about PC & motherboard

That is my motherboard. I went into BIOS and didnt see it show up there so do not now how to enable it.

There is a black SATA lead plugged into my master HDD does there need to be one in my slave too?

Well could you maybe post a picture of how it should look and which cables connect to where. I did not recieve any cables with the HDD. Are they already in the PC?
