Got a new PC which has 2 x 4GB of Fury Hyper X DDR4 ram - so 8GB in total
In the details section of Linux it's saying I have 5.8GB of ram,

Fury only make 4Gb/8GB/16GB ram - so it's impossible to make 6GB

When I run "free -m" in terminal it says...
Mem : 5968
Swap : 2047

How much RAM do you have allocated to the integrated graphics?
I'm not entirely sure

What are the full system specs, of your system? Is this a 32 bit, or 64 bit, version of linux?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2400G CPU with Radeon Vega RX Graphics
Motherboard: Gigabyte A320 M-H
Ram: 2 x 4GB of HyperX Fury DDR4
SSD/HDD: SSD 120GB, HDD 1TB
GPU: Radeon Vega RX Graphics
PSU: Cooler Master MasterWatt Lite 500W 80 Plus
Chassis: Fractal Design
OS: Linux Ubuntu 64Bit

When I run sudo lshw | grep -m 1 -A 25 "*-memory"
It says "Size 8GiB"

I would check ram allocation, in bios, for the integrated graphics. I am not a linux guru, by any means, but it sounds like that first command, that you mentioned is in regards to free memory available. If so, that could mean the OS and the IGP are using up the other nearly 2gb worth of ram.

Cool. So if i upgrade to 2x8GB ram ( 16gb total ) will it use up 2GB still or will it use proportionately more ?
