Not starting up.

I have an Acer 5315 that will not start up. As I went to find out why this is happening I found out I was not special. My computer acts as if it's going to start up. Fan runs for just a couple of seconds and then nothing. I have done the reset where you remove the battery and power cord. This USED to work. Now it seems totally random on if it will start up or not. When I do get it to start it works perfectly. If anyone knows why this is happening or can advise me on how to fix it please do. Thank you so much for your time and any help or advice given!

If it a week CMOS battery it can cause no post. The other issue is a bad power supply or cap on the mb.
