Pretty close to being equal. Both would be "good enough".
For example the AMD system would probably be better in Crysis and the Intel system would probably be better in Far Cry2.

System #1 for sure. Core i7 won't make much of a difference in games over the AMD 940. Especially not enough to make 2 4850s outperform 2 4870s. Plus you'd be more gaming future proof with the 2 4870s.

Don't get me wrong, Core i7 performs extremely well, as do 2 4850s. But 2 4870s would smash (well maybe not SMASH, but you catch my drift) Core i7 with 2 4850s, especially with the 1GBx2 Vram w/ your 1920x1200 resolution.

At least that's what I think.

Core I7 920 can be overclocked to 4.0ghz...a great overclocker. I7 is an awsome gaming CPU over the AMD. Just google it and check the stats. Even thought the AMD system specs show a better graphics card...the core I-7 will still have faster frames per second in the majority of the latest games.
