Hi all,
About a week ago a member of my family was doing work on our home and the power tripped a few times whilst I was on my computer. I do have a surge protector, but no UPS, and the computer showed no signs of issue immediately afterwards.
I've noticed recently that when I boot up the computer, when I get to the Windows login screen something is repeatedly powering up and down with a slight "clicking" noise. I'm fairly certain this is one of my hard drives. Note that this only seems to happen during the start up of the computer. Whilst it may not be relevant, this seems to happen around the same point as when software starts to kick in (CAM, MSI Afterburner), because my graphics card fans and lights turn off and on again (from default settings to software-controlled); the software is not installed on these drives.
I've tested both using various software, and they both come up as healthy. I'm still able to access both, and neither have any corrupted files. I don't use these hard drives for anything major, and have backed them up.
I also have 3 SSD's. As they have no moving parts I doubt it's them because of the clicking, but perhaps they're also a possibility?
Any advice would be appreciated.
