Not sure what parts to upgrade first

I'm having trouble with upgrading my parts, not sure what to upgrade first. I currently have an R9 280X and a Logitech G430 Gaming Headset. I want to upgrade one of the 2, i'm just not sure what.

If I upgraded the 280X, I'll get the GTX 1070 for $540 (Canadian),


but if I upgrade my headset, I'll get the Audio-Technica Headphones ATH-M40x and a Blue Snowball Microphone, which will total up into $220 (Canadian).

The GPU and Headset both run fine, they fit my needs. But if I get the 1070, I could get a 144hz monitor in December or something. If I get the Mic + Headset now, I could get the GPU later in December maybe, and get the monitor much later.

So, what do you guys recommend?

I think your current headset is fine but your GPU is a little outdated. I would start with the graphics card... but that's just my personal opinion.

Better go for 1070 It is latest and new in Gtx series +new software comes in more performance .
Your current Headset is ok, I don't know why you want to upgrade it :/ . Headphones are only used to hear sound so no need to upgrade it but GPU is used to improve the graphics quality, Resolution etc.

I mean I totally agree, but your point is invalid because you cannot say that it's more important to upgrade your GPU than to upgrade your headset, because the upgrading the GPU will improve your graphics quality - the same way upgrading your headset would improve sound quality. But for most people visuals are more important than sounds anyway...

the gpu on the other hand might be worth upgrading...but it depends on ur other specs as well...
pls mention ur full specs...

Mostly we use the headphones for hearing Songs and i don't know why you want to upgrade the headphones?, IN-Game for better hearing- if you are a multiplayer.
Your current Headphones are great Man. 1070 is the latest GPU it will help you in future with Editing/Games etc.
If i were at your position i definitely buy 1070
