hi looking in replacing my screen.run win 7 x64
6950 black edition video card.
was using acer p215h.
mostly for movies and games.play star craft 2,diablo type,some fps..was playing sc2 at 1080 ultra high settings on acer with no problem.Would like to stay at that resolution,just never bought one before,acer was a gift,using a 20'ctr monitor again.not sure what to look for,don't think want acer again after bad customer service.

would like to stay in decent price range,not sure if the 21.5-23' difference is worth the extra price.

local store has a- Samsung SyncMaster™ B2230 21.5" for 119.99
Samsung® S23A300B 23" for 179.99
LG® E2260V 21.5" LED-Backlit for 149.99

best b store has- HP - 23" Flat-Panel LED HD 169.99
HP - 20" Widescreen Flat-Panel 89.99

thanks

led backlit designs will save you money over ccfl (standard) designs. however, at that price range they may appear a little blue-tinted. you should be able to adjust that out.

in your budget the only thing available are tn screens which can have noticible color shift when viewed off-center. e-ips screens eliminate this but start around $300 i believe.

personally i'd go with viewsonic, dell or asus.

ok. thanks for info
thinking in 200 ish,most of those were on sale at local stores.even the acer p215h seemed fine after adjusting colors.just wasn't o sure on brands mostly,do think want to stay away from acer this time around,screen only lasted a year.ill look at those other brands,did have some just mostly wasn't sure.

All LED backlit monitors (with exception of professional graphics oriented monitors) can produce a bluish tint because all consumer level LED backlight monitors use W-LEDs.

White-LEDs (or simply LED) uses blue LED lights with a yellow phosphorous coating to imitate white. If that coating is not applied properly, then the light can appear bluish.

You can buy a Dell U2312HM which uses an e-IPS panel for $240 (no tax + free shipping)

cool thanks.been looking at asus and viewsonic after info earlier.never know someone with one so was to sure on how good they where.thanks thought seems asus 23-24 or viewsonic try for

@azeem40

seems to me that you since you know everything you didnt need to start that monitor question thread.

@op

you can not go by just numbers when it comes to response times. often every single person who tests a monitor will come up with a different number. many do not even post what sort of test they used to get the results.

an e-ips really is worth the extra 40 unless tn panel color shift doesnt bother you. either that or get a 22" tn and sit dead nuts on. you shouldnt have a problem if you do that but personally i cant stand it.

thanks for all the info

did find this asus,seems to be in price range im looking at for the moment just cant seem to find a review that's not on a sellers site like newegg or amazon

asus vs229h-p ,think is a 21.5 ips screen,have read that it has a 5ms refresh rate,not the 14 ms like listed.found from about 145-170$
