On my my PCIE Cord, there are 3 ends, two ends are 6+2 and both fit into my gpu (GTX 1080) and the other end is a Type 4 Pcie which fits into my psu (Corsair RM850x). But I can't find a cord that has only two ends. Am I supposed to use this one? and if so, what do I do with the third end?

Solution
You're fine to use that cord. You don't have to do anything with the third connection. Just make sure it is plugged into your PSU properly and your GPU has all of its 8 pins plugged in. If the GPU has two 8 pin connectors, make sure both are plugged in. Never leave a connector unplugged or else your GPU will not get power.

Thank you for clarifying, I didn't exactly explain it well.

For the uninitiated it'd be confusing, I knew where you were going.
