Not using Windows 10 Outlook password

Printer problems on wife's PC. Windows said to get an app. Entered Microsoft Outlook username/password that is almost never used. App thing was a waste of time, and ended up finding and using the old device manager.

Wife woke up this morning, and found her old non-Outlook username missing, and only was able to logon using here outlook username/password.

How do we go back to using a non-Microsoft account username/password?

If you have a look under control panel > user accounts, can you see more than one user listed?

If there's only one user you might need to revert the account back to a local one - I found this handy guide that might help
